Experience, Appreciate, and Be an Environmental Steward at Home!
Discovery Creek has always focused on environmentally-friendly practices. But being a steward of the environment takes place both at Discovery Creek and at home. Your help is needed in making a greener, healthy earth.
Here are a few easy, everyday tips that make the earth a better place:
Save water!
Turn off the water when you brush your teeth.
Take short showers instead of baths.
If you see a pipe leaking, tell an adult.
Wash your laundry with only full loads.
Save energy!
Turn off the lights when you leave the room or the house.
Unplug your TV and stereo when you're not using them--these electronics actually "leak" electricity when they are turned off but still plugged in.
Keep the air clean!
Take a walk or ride your bike instead of driving to nearby places.
If you must use a car, try to combine several trips in one. Share the ride with friends or neighbors.
Take public transportation or carpool.
Plant trees in your yard.
