Creative Art Contest

Budding artists and nature-loving children showed off their talent through Discovery Creek's first-ever creative art contest, held in early April 2006! The theme, "Everything in Nature is Connected," encouraged kids 12 years old and under to express their creativity through writing, drawing, and three-dimensional art. The following winners were announced at a special ceremony on Earth Day, April 22:

Age 4-6
Creative Writing
1st place - Jackson McDonnell (Age 6) "How Everything is Connected"

3D Art
1st place - Arielle Feuerstien (Age 4) "The Flower, Sun, Bugs, River, Rain, Clouds, Grass, Soil Picture"

2D Art
Honorable Mentions - Anthony Cavicchia, Lola Epstein, Alexander Fisher, Julia Levine, Ethan McDonald, and Jackson Tiller
2nd place - Bailey Tiller (Age 5) "Bees Playing" & "Spring Garden"
1st place- Ian Traphagen (Age 6) "Life Begins and Ends with Nature"
