ALL CAMP REGISTRANTS MUST BE CURRENT MEMBERS OF DISCOVERY CREEK CHILDREN’S
MUSEUM.
If you are not a current member, you can sign up for a family
membership while completing your camp registration during general registration.
Online: All applications should be completed online at discoverycreek.org.
Your full payment is due at the time of registration. Summer Nature Adventure
accepts Visa, MasterCard, and e-checks.
Membership Deadline: To participate in Early Registration,
each camper’s family must be a current Museum member as of January 14, 2008,
with membership paid, processed, and confirmed by this date. Therefore, we
recommend registering for membership early in order to participate in the
early registration window. If you are not certain of your membership status,
email camp@discoverycreek.org or call (202)488-0627. When registering, you
will need your FAMILY MembershipID number.
FAMILY Membership ID numberscan be found on your membership card.
This number should be used when registering each child in your family. If
you do not have your Family Membership ID number, please email us at camp@discoverycreek.org
with your name, phone number, and address or call (202) 488-0627.
Completed Registration/Payment: Once you have completed your
online registration and your payment has been processed, you will receive
a confirmation via email. Attached to this confirmation letter will be a liability
waiver that you must print out and mail to Discovery Creek within
7 business days.
Outstanding Balances: You may not apply to Summer Nature
Adventure if you have any outstanding balances with Discovery Creek.
Alterations: Discovery Creek staff cannot make any
alterations to your child's registration.
Age Eligibility: Children must meet all age eligibility requirements
as of the first day of camp. Failure to comply with age requirements will
lead to your child’s dismissal from camp with no refund.
Registration Procedures
Why online registration?
Registering online offers Discovery Creek constituents immediate notification
of their child’s acceptance into camp. In addition, online registration is
a more environmentally friendly method than mailing applications. Switching
to online registration has already helped us conserve over 8,000 sheets of
paper!
In addition, having our information online allows us to better serve you!
Summer Nature Adventure now has the ability to email parents regarding unforeseen
schedule changes, allow parents to download permission slips that may have
been misplaced, as well as help us keep in contact with you throughout the
year. Furthermore, you can now pay for camp via an online server as opposed
to mailing in payment.
Online registration will benefit both our members as and the environment in
the future. We are confident that this process is a sound decision to improve
Summer Nature Adventure Camps and minimize our impact on the environment.
Discovery Creek Children's Museum Summer Nature Adventure Online Registration
utilizes a safe, secure online server. Discovery Creek never shares, sells,
or rents any of your information.
How does online registration work?
Log onto www.discoverycreek.org.
Click on "Register for camp!"
Complete the registration form (see list below for required information).
Submit your payment via Visa, American Express, or E-Check
Once completed, you should receive a confirmation email with a liability
waiver attached. This waiver must be printed out and mailed in to Discovery
Creek within 7 days.
Check your email leading up to summer for parent outlines, packing
lists, and other summer announcements!
What information do I need to have ready to complete the online registration?
Please be sure to have the following information ready before you begin the
online registration:
Camper Information (Name, Date of Birth, Small Group Request)
Camper Medical Information (Allergies, Physician, Medical Conditions,
Disabilities, Health Insurance)
Parent Information (Name Address, Phone Number, Email, etc...)
Emergency Contact Information/Authorized Individuals to pick up your
child (Name, Address, Phone Number)
Camp Selection (Session Name, Dates, Location)
Extended Day Selection (4 - 6 year olds only)
Registration: MEMBERS: Early Registration starts Wednesday, January 16, 2008
To participate in early registration for members, you must be a current
Museum member as of January 14, 2008 with a Family Registration ID number.
Complete one application for each child who is applying to camp online
on Wednesday, January 16, 2008.
Mail in your liability waiver within 7 business days. This waiver will
be attached to your confirmation e-mail.
ALL OTHER FAMILIES: Registration starts Tuesday January 22, 2008
Complete one application online for each child who is applying to camp
on or after Tuesday, January 22, 2008.
If you are already a member of the Museum, you must include your Family
Registration ID number.
If you are not a member, you can register for membership simply by
registering for camp. The fee for an annual family membership is $75.00.
All camp families must be current members. (Please see page 15 for membership
benefits)
Notification:
You will receive instant notification of your reservation or that we are unable
to accommodate your selection. You must fill out the liability waiver attached
to this email notification to finalize your child’s spot in camp. When
will I be notified of my child's acceptance to camp?
Waitlist:
If all spaces within a session are filled at the time an application is processed,
the applicant’s name will be placed on a waitlist. As soon as a vacancy occurs,
the family will be contacted via phone and email at which time payment and
liability waiver are due within 5 business days.
