FROM DOWNTOWN WASHINGTON
Take Pennsylvania Avenue west to M Street. Go through Georgetown to outbound Canal Road (M Street becomes Canal Road just past the Key Bridge). Continue past the Key Bridge, straight through the traffic light (where Canal Road bears off to the left) and up a small hill to the intersection of Foxhall Road and MacArthur Boulevard. Bear left onto MacArthur. Follow the road for one mile to a T-intersection (the Lab School will be directly in front of you). Turn left and continue on MacArthur Boulevard for half a mile. The Schoolhouse is two blocks past the Safeway and will be on the left hand side of the road, across from Battery Kemble Park.
FROM NORTHERN VIRGINIA
Take the Key Bridge into Washington, DC. At the end of the bridge, turn left onto Canal Road. Continue for 0.7 miles, straight through the traffic light (where Canal Road bears off to the left) and up a small hill to the intersection of Foxhall Road and MacArthur Boulevard. Bear left onto MacArthur. Follow the road for one mile to a T-intersection (the Lab School will be directly in front of you). Turn left and continue on MacArthur Boulevard for half a mile. The Schoolhouse is two blocks past the Safeway and will be on the left hand side of the road, across from Battery Kemble Park.
FROM MARYLAND
Take 270 S to 495 W (the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway). Take Exit 40 (Clara Barton Parkway/Glen Echo) to the inbound Clara Barton Parkway. Follow the parkway for about 8 miles. At the T-intersection with Chain Bridge, the Clara Barton Parkway becomes Canal Road. At the next intersection, turn left onto Arizona Avenue and go up the hill. At the first traffic light, turn right onto MacArthur Boulevard. Go through one more traffic light and continue for two blocks. Discovery Creek's Schoolhouse will be on your right across from Battery Kemble Park.
USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
From downtown Washington, take the Metro Bus D1, D3, or D6 marked with the destination of Sibley Hospital (be sure the final destination is correct). Exit the bus at the corner of MacArthur Boulevard and Chain Bridge Road (after Ashby Street). Walk South on MacArthur half a block to the Schoolhouse, which will be across the street from Battery Kemble Park.
