FROM NORTHERN VIRGINIA
Take 395 North across the 14th Street Bridge. Merge onto the Southeast/Southwest Freeway, heading towards SE Washington, DC. Follow the freeway to its split, and follow the signs to Pennsylvania Avenue. At the traffic light, turn right and cross the John P. Sousa Bridge, immediately getting into the far left lane. At the first traffic light, make a left onto DC 295, heading north towards Maryland. Follow 295 to the exit for Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue. Turn left at the light onto Burroughs. At the four-way stop, go straight (do not follow the signs for Kenilworth Park). Follow the street as it curves to the right onto Anacostia Drive. Continue straight approximately 0.6 miles to the parking lot for Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens on your left.
FROM DOWNTOWN WASHINGTON
Take Massachusetts Avenue to New York Avenue (Route 50 East), heading east away from the center of the city. Continue for approximately five miles on New York Avenue before taking the right-hand exit for MD-201 S / Kenilworth Avenue / I-295 S. Almost immediately after that right, take the Eastern Ave/Aquatic Garden exit on your right. At the stoplight, go straight. Turn right at the first intersection onto Quarles Street. At the end of Quarles, turn left onto Anacostia Drive. Continue on Anacostia Drive and look for the sign on the right for Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. Turn right into the parking lot.
FROM MARYLAND
Take 270 S to 495 E (the Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway). Take the Beltway to the exit for Route 50 west towards Washington, DC. Follow Route 50 until you see a sign for 295 S. Take the Eastern Avenue/Aquatic Garden exit on the right. At the stoplight, go straight. Immediately after the corner store on the right, turn right onto Quarles Street. At the end of Quarles, turn left onto Anacostia Drive. Stay straight and look for the sign on the right for Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. Turn right into the parking lot.
USING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Take the Orange Line to the Deanwood Metro station. After the turnstyles, take the exit on your left for Polk Street. At the end of the walkway, make a left onto Polk Street. At the end of the street, cross the access road and take the footbridge over 295. At the end of the bridge walkway, continue onto Douglas Street (you will see a Kenilworth sign at the end of the street). Follow Douglas to the end and make a right onto Anacostia Drive. Walk about one block to the public entrance. Walk through the parking lot to the path leading to the gate.
